About

THE KIND MIND - Mental Health Recovery

Recovery coaches will support participants to take more control of their lives and to better manage the complex challenges of day-to-day living.

Recovery coaches will work collaboratively with participants, their families, carers and other services to design, plan and implement a recovery plan, and assist with the coordination of NDIS and other supports.

Our Approach

What is a recovery coach?
A Psychosocial Recovery Coach (recovery coach) is an NDIS support item for participants with a psychosocial disability who require support managing complex challenges of daily living.

Philosophy of Recovery

The principles of recovery-oriented mental health practice ensure that mental health services are delivered in a way that supports the recovery of mental health consumers.

They are:
1. Uniqueness of the individual
2. Real choices
3. Attitudes and rights
4. Dignity and respect
5. Partnership and communication
6. Evaluating recovery

Commitment to Clients

Recovery is about all of your life, not just your symptoms. It involves:

- finding hope, and developing self-esteem and resilience.
- having a sense of purpose and meaning in your life.
- building healthy relationships.
- gaining independence.
